Research by the RICS revealed that, on average, buyers spend £5,750 on repairs.

 

The valuation report obtained by the mortgage lender is just that - a valuation, not a survey, and it is provided for the benefit of the lender, not the buyer. It's important to have survey undertaken which gives you a full report on the property's condition.
